Renaissance Accelerated Math assignments are missing some symbols or have strange characters in place of the symbols, when printed from Macintosh computers.

Product: Renaissance Accelerated Math, AccelScan

Platform: Macintosh

Last Updated: 6/7/2019

Issue:

Renaissance Accelerated Math assignments are missing some symbols or have strange characters in place of the symbols, when printed from Macintosh computers. This may occur for assignments that are direct-printed after scoring a card in AccelScan, and also for assignments that are printed or reprinted from the Assignment Book.

Reason:

This may occur if Adobe Reader is not installed on an OS X computer, and the built-in Preview application is used instead. It may also occur if the AccelScan software has been copied from another location, instead of running the installer.

Note: If you are seeing this issue on Windows computers, see KB article #5027514.

Resolution:

Generate a report in your Renaissance application. If it opens in the browser using Adobe Reader, its probably not an issue with Adobe. If it will not display, or displays in the browser using Preview, install or reinstall Adobe Reader.

If you have ruled out an issue with Adobe Reader, reinstall the AccelScan software. If the issue occurs when direct printing from the Assignment Book, reinstall the latest RLPrint Plugin.
